Serial connections may cause serious headaches if you have to establish them over long distances. Even if you have to work with hundreds of serial ports, Serial to Ethernet Connector will make your life much easier. As its name suggests, the application makes it possible to share serial ports over the Internet or a local network. In other words, you can have one or more devices connected to a computer, through serial ports and have them communicate with a remote computer, over a TCP/IP protocol.

The software is free to try for two weeks, but without any noticeable limitations. Its setup package is small, but it may take more than a minute to install its components, because they include a few required services. The good part is that you don't have to go through any complex settings to complete the installation process.

The layout of the user interface makes everything quite easy. You may create multiple connections and save them in a list, on the left side of the window. Furthermore, the software lets you choose between three connection types. You can opt for a server connection, if you wish to receive COM port data from client machines, a client connection, if you want to send out COM port data or a UDP connection, to send data over a UDP protocol.

The software places a wide range of options at your disposal when it comes to defining a connection. Choosing the serial and TCP ports you want is sufficient to create a new connection, but you can also switch to advanced mode, to reveal many more options. You can make numerous tweaks, to fine tune your connection, make more secure and more.

With Serial to Ethernet Connector, you can make serial-connected devices communicate with remote computers without any effort.

Pros

You can share data from serial-connected devices to remote computers, over a TCP/IP protocol. Establishing one or more connections is quite easy. The software supports up to 500 connections.

Cons

There are no obvious issues to mention.
